Cambridge Quantum Computing (CQC) is a global leader in software and enterprise applications that help its partners, collaborators, and clients to work effortlessly across multiple platforms and solve some of the most intriguing problems in their industry through quantum computing. Our focus is in the areas of quantum chemistry, quantum machine learning, and quantum encryption.
CQC has a strong and unique scientific grounding in terms of its core team with over 80 scientists, of which over 60 are Ph.D. holders. We are in the process of expanding our operations significantly across our offices in Cambridge (U.K.), Oxford, London, Washington, DC, and Tokyo.
Within this role your aim is to enable our users to achieve their quantum computing goals and get the most out of our quantum software stack, and in particular our compiler, t|ket⟩. CQC makes software that enables researchers and computational scientists to build algorithms that can run on any current quantum computer. Our compiler system t|ket⟩ and its supporting python libraries ensure that the quantum circuits produced are as efficient as possible and well optimised to run on whichever quantum device the user selects. As our software grows in scale and complexity our users will need more help to get the best out of it.
That’s where you come in.
This role will involve writing documentation and tutorials, designing and leading workshops and training sessions (both in person and via video conference) and responding to tech support requests. You will work closely with CQC’s developers and scientists on a daily basis, as well as our business development team, and of course the users themselves. You will also be an important conduit for feedback to the developers, and an advocate for users’ needs when we design the next generation of world leading quantum software.
Familiar with quantum computing and at least one existing quantum software framework (Qiskit, Cirq, Quil/Forest)
Experienced programmer, preferably in python
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Maths, Physics, or a closely related field
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to clearly communicate complex ideas to people of varying expertise
Strong problem-solving skills
Nice to haves:
Some experience of software development tools such as git, Jira
Some experience of working in tech support
Some experience of teaching or delivering technical training
Higher degree involving quantum computing
